2008 Barolo

The 2008 Barolo is one of the more interesting wines in its price range. It shows the richness of the house style and muscle of Serralunga along with an accessible personality that makes it a pure joy to taste. Dark cherries, plums, spices and new leather wrap around the insistent, powerful finish. Pira’s 2008 Barolo offers fabulous quality for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2023. This is an impressive set of wines from Giampaolo Pira. The wines aren’t as massive as they sometimes are, but that is just fine.
