Note di degustazione
The 2006 Camarcanda is fabulous. Rich, deep and concentrated to the core, the Camarcanda captures the density and opulence of this great Bolgheri vintage in its dark, sensual fruit and brooding personality. Despite its formidable weight, the wine also shows remarkable clarity and precision. Minerals, violets, French oak and new leather add considerable character to the ripe dark fruit. This will be a fascinating wine to follow over the coming years. It is without question the finest wine Angelo Gaja has made in his Maremma property. The flagship Camarcanda is 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc.

These are without question the finest wines I have tasted from Angelo Gaja’s Ca’ Marcanda estate on the Tuscan coast. It will be interesting to see where the wines go from here. The vines are now starting to get to the age where the resulting wines show real pedigree and class. Importer: Terlato Wines International, Lake Bluff, IL; tel. (847) 604 8900
