1996 Chevalier Montrachet

Complex, roasted aromas of charred oak, nuts, smoked meat, minerals, petrol and sulfides; this has everything fans of Colin's wines look for. Penetrating, bright and pure, with much better focus than the Batard. Strong citric flavors unfold and expand on the very long, firm aftertaste. An extremely unevolved wine that may well need a decade of aging. Very impressive.
