Note di degustazione
The 2000 Barolo Colonnello reveals a pretty bouquet with early stages of tertiary development. Tobacco, licorice and sweet spices emerge from the Burgundian bouquet. The Colonnello has aged evenly and gracefully. The tannins have melted away while the fruit is soft and expressive.

Anticipated maturity: 2011-2018. Aldo Conterno’s 2000s are quite foward relative to their historical track records. As expected, the Granbussia is the strongest wine in the bunch, but none of these three Baroli appears to be built for the very long haul.
Medium red with a hint of amber. Quintessential Barolo perfume of dried flowers, nuts and forest floor. Then fresher and more obviously structured than the basic Bussia Soprana bottling, with more thrust and flavor definition. Rich, deep and firmly tannic, but the Cicala is even more solid.
