Note di degustazione
The 1988 Clerc Milon shows its age on the nose, rather cheesy and a little volatile and musty. The palate is medium-bodied with sharp tannin, very balsamic in style and attenuating sharply on the finish. This is simply past its best and my intuition is perhaps over-oaked when it was originally made. Tasted at the château.

The 1988 is deep in color, with a moderately intense bouquet of herbs, smoke, and blackcurrants. The hardness it revealed when it was young has melted away, and at present, a rich, creamy texture offers up considerable roasted fruit flavors complemented by lavish amounts of oak.
