Punteggio 93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2013

High-pitched aromas of lemon, lime, crushed stone, jasmine and coriander. Dense, pliant and intense, with brisk acidity and lovely limey lift giving the mid-palate a zippy quality for the year. Really echoes on the tactile, long back end, which coats the palate with intriguing salty minerality. A splendid showing.

A supple, open wine, the 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets is likely to offer its best drinking relatively early. Succulent yellow stone fruits, spices and flowers caress the palate in this soft, pretty Chassagne. There is good depth in the fruit, but less in the way of supporting minerality. Caillerets is the first parcel the Domaine harvested, on August 29.

Tight, restrained, a little dilute. You might expect more from premier cru. (RH)

A discreet application of wood surrounds fresh, exotic and cool aromas of both white and yellow orchard fruit with hints of pineapple and green tea. There is strikingly good delineation to the mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess a refined mouth feel before terminating in a driving, linear, dry and wonderfully persistent finish. Note that this is not as complex as it will be in time so some patience will be required if you wish to experience this wine's full potential. Tasted: Jun 11, 2013. Drink: 2018+
