Punteggio 17/20 · Da bere 2010-2032, Walter Speller, jancisrobinson.com, Jan 2015

Monforte d’Alba. Very dark with a bright but narrow bricky rim. A little caramelly and with some development on the nose. Undergrowth and dried fruit. Palate shows solid core of ripe fruit, still quite tannic, and with almost tart acidity. (WS)

Good full, deep red. Ripe, deep, slightly medicinal aromas of currant and black cherry. Big, broad, rich and sweet. In spite of its hint of medicinal austerity this really fills the mouth with perfume. An almost surprisingly round Barolo that finishes with lovely length and sweet, ripe tannins. I find this more open-knit than the '06, which will probably age longer.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2013-2024, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Oct 2008

The 2004 Barolo Bussia possesses and additional dimension of inner sweetness. This expansive, refined Barolo reveals an attractive array of ripe dark fruit, sweet toasted oak, spices, tar and licorice. The tannins are broad, yet silky and the wine appears to have more than enough plumpness to provide balance. The 2004 is one of the finest recent vintages of this wine. The Barolo Bussia is aged in a combination of small barrels and larger casks.
