2002 Volnay Clos des Chenes

Medium red. High-toned aromas of raspberry, mint and licorice. Larger-scaled but less pliant than the village wine, with lovely elegance but distinctly restrained sweetness of fruit. Finishes with very suave tannins. I like this style.

Bright, dark red-ruby. Cassis, black cherry and oak on the nose. Rich, sweet and nuanced; very stylish Volnay, with flavors of cherry and chocolate and excellent flesh. Big, rich, chewy finish offers excellent length.
