The 1997 Barolo Brunate displays an evolved dark garnet color with an amber edge. However, in the mouth, it is dense, full-bodied, moderately tannic, structured, and backward with plenty of power, concentration, and youthfulness. Very good full red. Complex aromas of smoke, mocha, flowers and mint. Sweet, smooth and dense, but given shape by penetrating vinosity. Enticing hint of amaretto. Finishes with substantial dusty, spreading tannins.
