Restrained aromas of pineapple and stone. Densely packed and concentrated if a bit youthfully tight, showing lemon, spice and mineral flavors that build slowly and linger on the back half. This sweet, sappy, fresh wine offers lovely sweetness of fruit and density without excess weight. Much more harmonious today than it appeared to be from barrel a year ago.

The 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet La Boudriotte is another wine that is fairly closed today. It is a bit like the Morgeot, but with more tenderness and softer contours, both of which make me hopeful for the future. The layered, expressive finish makes me think all the 2011 needs is more time in bottle to fully flesh out.
Crackling and scented with real raciness. Sleek even if not that concentrated. Fresh and confident with a neat finish. (JR)
Very closed nose hints at lime, hay, flowers, fresh herbs and wet stone. Firm minerality and brisk acidity combine to give the palate a slightly sour impression. Quite disjointed today: I don't find a lot of ripeness or personality.
