Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2018-2030, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Mar 2022

Colin's 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Baudines is drinking very well today, wafting from the glass with aromas of citrus zest, crisp golden orchard fruit, white flowers, hazelnuts and wheat toast. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, with succulent acids and a giving profile, it's girdled by chalky dry extract that lends pleasing grip to the finish.

Pale yellow. Pure perfume of peach and white flowers complemented by spicy oak. Tightly wound and rather robust in style, with lovely sappy stony energy dominating the middle palate. The long, classically dry finish shows juicy lemon and spice notes and very good grip.

Quite like Chenevottes, just a bit higher and a bit more clayey. 50 m higher. Ripens about a week later than Chenevottes. Broad and pretty and sweet and a bit more reserved than Chenevottes. All in reserve. The Morgeot of altitude – power and finesse. Chewy on the end. (JR)

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru les Baudines 2011 from Pierre-Yves Colin has a broad bouquet with touches of honeycomb, red apple and a touch of peach skin – much more generous than Benjamin Leroux’s at the moment. The palate is quite rich on the entry but it maintains fine balanced and weight. There is a hint of nougat in the background toward the finish, with brioche and orange rind developing with aeration. I love the poise and penetration here. Excellent. eRobertParker.com.November, 2014
