Note di degustazione
Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Saint Aubin 1er Cru En Montceau 2011 from Marc Colin offers captivating mineralité on the nose: focused and precise with Puligny-like fresh green apple and wet limestone scents. The palate is well balanced with good fruit concentration, a keening thread of acidity with a precise and focused finish. I would not ask for anything more.

An exuberantly expressive, fresh and bright nose speaks of a pretty mélange of citrus, floral and various white orchard fruit aromas. There is an excellent sense of underlying tension to the cool, well-detailed and delicious mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that possess outstanding complexity on the bone dry, crisp and linear finish. This will need an extra year or two of bottle age relative to the bulk of these St. Aubin 1ers and is a beautiful effort. Tasted: Jun 11, 2013. Drink: 2017+
