Grasso's 2004 Bricco Luciani offers good depth on the palate, but the aromatics are advanced. Dark red cherry, plum, earthiness, smoke and licorice add a measure of complexity, but the 2004 is unusually forward, with oxidative overtones that suggest it is fully mature.
