100% new oak (barrique). Attractive tension underneath and some weight but rather overwhelmed by the oak. Nervosité and I’m sure future vintages will be really exciting. Also tasted 7 Jan 2010. Score 17- Drink 2013-20: Pretty wild on the nose – lots of character here. Though not quite enough nobility for the price, I’d say. He’s certainly trying hard with this wine; it’s not a throwaway, depending on its name to sell. (JR)
