Dark red cherries, plums, menthol, spices and leather are some of the notes that take shape in Sandrone's 2008 Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore (Library Release). The herbal notes the 2008 showed when young have receded, but texturally the wine remains a bit raw and unbalanced relative to the standard that has been set here over the years.
