2000 Virtus Langhe Rosso

The 2000 Virtus, in fact, a full ruby, sweet and spicy on the nose with very light and agreeable notes of sage and thyme, is round and ample on the palate, with much berry fruit, chocolate, warmth from the alcohol, and a lower, more balanced acidity than in previous vintages. Virtus, the house blend of Barbera and Cabernet, has, at times, been somewhat herbaceous in the past, but a hot vintage seems to have baked the greenness out of the wine.
