Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2014-2018, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Feb 2014

The 2012 Chassagne-Montrachet Village has an intriguing bouquet with lively citrus aromas laced with pine needles and damp woodland. It is well-defined and gains intensity with aeration. The palate is light but nicely balanced on the entry with a keen thread of acidity, pleasant orange zest and peach notes lining the conservative but clean and fresh finish. This is fine. Drink now-2018. Bruno Colin is the son of Michel Colin, who retired in 2003 and split the domaine between his two sons. There are approximately 8 hectares of vine, including a healthy supply of old vine material. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel. (510) 524-1524 and also through Goedhuis & Co. (UK)

(this finished its malo very early, in January, and had been sulfited ten days before my visit): Bright, pale yellow. Rather clenched on the nose. Then fresh and nicely balanced in the mouth, with ripe acidity framing the lemon and spice flavors. Finishes with good lemony cut.

This is also reduced but in this case it's less pronounced but even so I would still suggest decanting it. There is very good density to the succulent medium weight flavors that coat the palate with dry extract yet there is no heaviness thanks to the brisk supporting acidity. This is a good if not truly special Chassagne villages that should drink well after only 2 to 3 years of bottle age. Tasted: Jun 15, 2014. Drink: 2016+
