The 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet has a lovely immediacy to it. Almond, hazelnut and spice notes add complexity to the pliant, expressive finish. This approachable Chassagne is best enjoyed over the next few years. The Chassagne was bottled just before the Christmas holiday.
Something just faintly old-fashioned about the nose of this (a tad more sulphur than some perhaps?) but solid and satisfying. Bright fruit and a chalky finish with good ample fruit on the mid palate. (JR)
An expressive and broad-ranging nose features notes of resin, fennel, white orchard fruit and apricot hints. There is plenty of punch and good if not special delineation to the focused and solidly voluminous flavors that also display a saline hint on the moderately long and reasonably well-layered finish.
