Note di degustazione
Shaded ruby and gently on the way down from its peak, this a very lovely wine with fresh minuteness and no shortage of fruit with a dry herbal quality on the finish. Light tertiary bouquet, moderate acidity and virtually no tannin left to speak of, this could be enjoyed with foods that are traditionally thought of as more suitable for white wines. (JR)

The 2000 Chianti Classico has a Barolo-like nose of resin, tar, and floral notes along with its black cherries and plums, though the palate, polished, elegant, stylish, and very continuous, is clearly Tuscan, not Piedmontese. Drink: 2005-2012. Note: at press time, Castello di Ama was in the process of changing their American importer.
