Conterno's 2001 Barolo Riserva Ginestra captures the essence of one of Barolo's grand cru' vineyards. It shows the classic notes of blackberries, prunes, spices, menthol, tar and licorice in a sumptuous, full-bodied style. The tannins remain firm, and the prominent Ginestra acidity is on display, but this is a gorgeous expression of Nebbiolo at its very finest.
