Note di degustazione
(aged in new and "slightly used" barriques Bright yellow. Aromatic nose of apple, citrus fruits and honey complemented by sexy oak. Broad, rich and lush, but with sneaky lemony acidity giving shape and lift to the flavors of peach, citrus fruits and smoky oak. A big wine, but the 2007 vintage apparently yielded chardonnay with very good acidity here. Finishes round and spicy, with a leesy complexity.

Angelo Gaja's Chardonnay 2007 Gaia & Rey is a big, lush wine, yet also shows remarkable balance considering the warm vintage. As has been the case in recent vintages here, toast level is down, and while the wine reveals plenty of ripe, varietal fruit, it also manages to retain a surprising level of freshness and verve.
