Punteggio 93/100 · David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, Dec 2009

There are three demi-muids and half a barrique of Michel Colin's 2007 Puligny-Montrachet Les Demoiselles constituting a bumper crop for this tiny site (now with three owners, including son Bruno and the Domaine Amiot). A faint aura of white truffle joins chalk dust, sea breeze, iris, and diverse citrus in the nose. Luscious and bright on the palate, with a subtly creamy texture, this finishes with a memorable, dynamic mingling lime, grapefruit, tangerine and white peach with chalk, salt, toasted nuts, and savory suggestions of lobster shell reduction and browned butter. This many-faceted gem should be worth following for the better part of a decade. Bruno and Philippe Colin's father Michel continues to be the owner of three of the family's prime parcels, and the wines are vinified at the family cellars alongside those of Bruno. Ripe lemon and wet stone on the nose, which comes across as less pristine than that of the Remilly. Big, rich, fat and sweet, but with an almost aggressive character to the ripe peach and spice flavors. Offers impressive volume for the year, and yet I find it less incisive than the Remilly, with a lower-pitched apple element. Is this primary enough? Bruno Colin notes that this wine tasted better before it was bottled.

More creamy than the En Remilly. A bit of white pepper. Lots of grapefruit and a tiniest hint of exotic spice. Lovely complexity. Intense, bright and very long. Very classy. (JH)

(60-year-old vines) Ripe peach and spicy oak aromas verge on exotic. Fat and creamy, with an exotic mango flavor but also good minerally cut. A very rich, sweet, palate-staining wine that finishes with a suggestion of alcoholic warmth.
