Cask sample. Smoky, reductive style. Lashings of concentrated and ripe fruit but underneath there is a crystalline quality and very distinct focus. A classic Meursault which balances weight and finesse. (AWH)

The 2021 Meursault Clos de la Velle has a smoky, tertiary nose that doesn't quite click into gear like some of its peers. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, citrus-fresh with bitter lemon and a generous slice of ginger on the finish leaving the tongue tingling. It starts a bit muted but gains intensity on the finish.
