The 2025 Arômes de Pavie was picked from 19 to 24 September at just 18 hl/ha from a dedicated parcel located on the limestone plateau. Again, this is very intense on the nose with slightly smudged black plum and cassis fruit. The palate is marked by grainy tannins, better acidity than the Clos Lunelles tasted just before, though there is a little alcoholic warmth on the bitter finish.

Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Arômes De Pavie has a gorgeous, Cabernet-like nose of red and black fruits, smoky tobacco, crushed stone, and chocolaty, truffly nuances. It's rich and powerful on the palate, with full-bodied richness, a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, flawless balance, and a great finish. You'd be excused for mistaking this for the grand vin of a few years ago, and it's more in the style of the classic Pavie than the Grand Vin in 2025.
Rich and compact, with ripe berry and chocolate influence. Medium- to full-bodied with ripe, creamy tannins and texture. Dense finish.
The 2025 Arômes de Pavie is gorgeous. A blend of 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Franc, Arômes offers a very good representation of the Grand Vin, on a smaller scale. Juicy dark red/purplish fruit, blood orange, menthol, licorice, new leather and dried herbs open first. There's quite a bit of tannin that needs to soften with élevage. Yields were just 18 hectoliters per hectare, perhaps too low, as berries were tiny and thick-skinned. That's something of a challenge for a wine meant to be enjoyed young, where aging is not on most consumers' minds. On the other hand, I have tasted older vintages of Arômes that prove it can age beautifully.
