Bright cherry fruit that is clearly maturing and cut with plenty of spice is followed by sweet, nicely complex flavors that offer fine length. This is really quite pretty and delivers solid quality and length and while there is a bit of oak char on the nose, it is less obvious than it usually is. I would be drinking this now as there is no further improvement to be had. Tasted multiple times with consistent notes.

Groffier's better wines were unquestionably successful in 1993. The dark ruby-colored Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses exhibits wonderfully sweet, ripe fruit, as well as plenty of smoky new oak in its intense aromatics. The wine is medium-bodied and long, with a creamy texture, light tannin, and a long, spicy finish. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. For the first time since I have been tasting Groffier's wines, he decided to bottle them without fining or filtration.
