Punteggio 90-93/100 · Da bere 2029-2034, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy, Jul 2025

A yield of 12 hl/ha. Lemon and lime in colour. There is a certain power, but not vast weight either. Precision and freshness, says Didier Seguier. Still a light peachiness and a little salty bitterness behind. The Bougros has really not yet developed its full potential, but shows promise.

The 2024 Chablis Bougros Grand Cru is quite reticent on the nose, suggesting that it needs time in bottle. This is more marine-influenced than the Premier Crus from William Fevre. The palate is well balanced with a keen line of acidity. It is not the most complex Bougros that I have tasted from this producer, although there is good weight with tangy grapefruit and melon on the finish. Fine.

(from an incredible ~6 ha parcel; from yields of only 7.5 hl/ha in 2024). This too instantly makes its origins clear with aromas of iodine, algae, ocean breeze and shrimp shell. As one might reasonably expect, there is markedly<br /> more size, weight and muscle to the broad-shouldered flavors that conclude in a compact, youthfully austere and highly persistent finale. This is a classic Bougros that is undeniably built-to-age and a wine that’s going to need it.
