Note di degustazione
From 90-year-old 100% Garnatxa Negra, the medium-bodied 2022 La Coma D'En Romeu shows the site’s biodiversity of ancient and massal-selection vines as well as the presence of almond trees, evoking all of those things in the aromatics and flavors of the wine. Dried herb, spice, and red fruit play around a tropicality of fresh acidity and spring-like fervor, the layers densely packed and accented in oak yet never heavy or out of balance. With only 2,400 bottles made, it shows the tremendous quality of the vineyard, farmed biodynamically since 2010. This will age beautifully another 10-15 years.

The 2022 La Coma d'en Romeu from Porrera, Priorat, is 100% Grenache. Attractive and complex, it delivers balsamic notes, field herbs, rose and pomegranate with just-ripe fruit. Compact, finely grained and slightly rugged in texture, it carries delicate fruit flavor with gentle juiciness. A modern Garnatxa, lightly concentrated and finely expressed. Accomplished.
The 2022 La Coma d’en Romeu has the classical nose from the vineyard, a combination of ripe peach, aromatic herbs, a touch of smoky bacon, ink and licorice, intoxicating and characterful. The wine has a very strong personality and is very different from the rest, the wild character of the place. It has a medium to full-bodied palate with abundant, slightly dusty tannins. It comes in at 14.07% alcohol, a pH of 3.4 and 4.27 grams of acidity. 2,400 bottles were filled in April 2024.
