Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2026-2046, Neal Martin, Jan 2026

The 2015 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru has quite a reductive nose that clearly requires serious decanting but the intensity is evident. The palate is well balanced with lemon, lime, Japanese mirin, apricot and quince. Very complex, finely poised with a lightly spiced almost Meursault Charmes-like finish. Very classy and it will age exquisitely in the bottle.

The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières is being released this year, and it will certainly make an impression, as it's remarkably flamboyant and expressive for a young Coche-Dury Perrières. Bursting with aromas of toasted nuts, confit citrus, iodine and smoke, it's full-bodied, satiny and layered, with a dense, muscular profile and a long, resonant finish. This is a masterpiece of controlled power that will turn heads out of the gates.

(13.9% alcohol, as these grapes got very ripe in 2015): Musky white peach, pineapple, gunflint and a hint of oak char on the spectacular nose. Wonderfully pure and precise, with the wine's penetrating silex and chalk flavors contributing to an impression of power, solidity and strong, sappy extract. This great expression of stony terroir conveys outstanding force of character and inner-mouth energy. The explosive, rising finish shows a touch of youthful bitterness that calls for cellaring--although Raphael Coche insists that the wine could be enjoyed now with a lobster in butter sauce.
