Henri Boillot’s 2024 Meursault Village is drawn entirely from domaine-owned parcels on the coteau (Les Petits Charrons, Chevalières, Casse Têtes, Luraule and Les Pelles and covering 1.5 hectares) though yields were down by 40% due to rain and colulure during the flowering early June. The bouquet is lifted and expressive, mingling pear, orange oil and white flowers with hints of toasted nuts and delicate florals. On the palate, it combines Boillot’s trademark precision with a softer, more seductive texture, offering layers of ripe peach and citrus framed by tangy acidity and a finely etched mineral tension. Taut, vibrant and beautifully balanced, it concludes with a youthfully austere, saline finish that lingers with energy. A classic Meursault at its most refined.

Quite a full yellow. A firm bouquet, plenty of fruit but not the rounded style of old-fashioned Meursault. Fills out more on the palate, with greengage and citrus, lime and grapefruit. The usual Boillot intensity and length.
Outstanding. Moderate wood sets off cool and airy aromas of green apple, acacia blossom, lemon-lime and crushed fennel. There is fine volume and punch to the utterly delicious middle weight flavors that possess solid mid-palate density while displaying excellent length on the bone-dry and zest-inflected finale. This is an excellent Meursault villages and worth a look. Drink 2031+

Based in Meursault and farming some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, Henri Boillot is a leading address in Burgundy. He crafts fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the estate is best known for its flagship monopole vineyard, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère.
