The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru sports a noticeable reduction on the nose, and it doesn't quite work, suppressing the terroir profile and fruit. Maybe that will alleviate with bottle age? Aeration fails to dislodge it here. The palate is well-balanced with a honeyed entry, rich and almost Sauternes-like in texture. I wonder if there is a bit of botrytised fruit here? Still, I admire the back end of this Grand Cru that caresses the mouth and has a luxuriant quality to it. Give it two or three years in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Some almonds on the nose. Medium weight and some richness. Tastes pretty much like a grand cru in terms of weight. Chewy end. A little leaner than the Follin-Arbelet example. (JR)
The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a very appealing nose, well-defined and focused, the oak neatly integrated, yellow plum, lemon curd and light crushed stone aromas. The palate is very well balanced with a saline entry, taut and fresh with a touch of sour lemon on the finish. This is a very assured Corton-Charlemagne that should age with style.
