Punteggio 90-92/100 · Da bere 2019-2032, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

The 2015 Pommard 1er Cru les Croix Noires was perhaps the one cuvée that seemed to translate as much of the warm growing season as it does the terroir, hints of fig and date tincturing the otherwise attractive dark berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy, ripe, supple tannin. This will be a relatively rich and opulent Pommard, although undeniably it is balanced on the finish with ample freshness and offers a lovely blood orange aftertaste.

Punteggio 90-92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Nov 2016

(less than 20 hectoliters per hectare produced in 2015; a section of these old vines will be replanted in 2018): Bright, dark red. Red berries and some new oak scents on the nose (this wine was in all new barrels until after the malolactic fermentation). Plush and pliant but a bit less intense than the Frémiers, with its impression of sweet, spicy oak a bit dominant today. Highly concentrated and long but not especially complex or sweet, this very savory wine will need at least several years of bottle aging to harmonize its slightly drying tannins. Tough going today.
