Orange, apricot, clove and hazelnut on the nose. Sweet, supple and fruity but on the soft side. Finishes with decent length and a slight dry edge I did not find in the basic village bottling.

Minerals and flowers are found in the aromatic profile of the 2003 Meursault Desiree (white). Buttery, angle-free, and bright, it offers a spicy light to medium-bodied personality that is flavorful, deep, and reveals gorgeous depth of fruit. Distinctly exotic aromas of orange liqueur, pineapple, licorice, lichee and sweet oak. Fat, sweet, unctuous and soft. Boasts impressive stuffing but shows some alcoholic warmth. But this avoids dryness on the finish. It will be very interesting to see how this turns out-i. e. , whether it gains in structure with elevageor loses all sense of shape.
