Fine, mineral and lifted again. Sweet fruit and spice on the nose. This has the weight of the Albarella and the structure of the Annunziata. There is more to come from this. Serious wine and again one for the cellar.

This hot-vintage expression is driven by a deep sense of power and inner momentum. The Brunate vineyard in Barolo is known for its dense, robust but ultimately very elegant quality of fruit. That is expressed in the 2011 Barolo Brunate with blackberry, coffee and dark spice delivered in generous waves of flavor.
Much more yellow than the Rocche dell’Annunziata. Sweet and heady. This is easy to like but gives the impression that the flavour may have been very slightly ‘boiled out’. Not bad, but not as thrilling as it should be. (JR)
The 2011 Barolo Brunate is unusually forward and open in this vintage. Translucent and soft, the 2011 is laced with attractive scents of dark plum, cherry, spice and wild flowers. This is a pretty Barolo, for Brunate the 2011 lacks a bit of punch and the depth that is typical of wines from this hallowed site. Sadly, this is the last vintage of the Brunate here, as Oberto lost the lease.
