Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2026-2032, Audrey Frick, jebdunnuck.com, May 2026

The 2024 Solosole pours a bright golden yellow hue and offers a fresh, inviting aromatic profile of melon, white pineapple, almond, and saline notes, with a subtle herbal edge (reminiscent of Gruner Veltliner). Medium-bodied, it reveals a lightly chalky texture balanced by good clarity and freshness. Sourced from multiple vineyard sites to balance richness and salinity, and raised in stainless steel, it’s a clean, expressive Vermentino with good length. Drink 2026-2032. The Bolgheri-based sister estate of Allegrini in Verona, Poggio Al Tesoro was founded in 2001 by Walter and Marilisa Allegrini. Christian Coco has taken over winemaking since 2022.

The 2024 Bolgheri Vermentino Solosole is redolent of apricot, chamomile, marzipan, honey and floral notes with mid-palate viscosity and texture. As always, the Solosole shows the more exotic, rich side of Vermentino. This very distinctive style makes the 2024 quite versatile at the dinner table.

Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2026-2028, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Feb 2026

The Poggio al Tesoro 2024 Bolgheri Vermentino Solosole shows ripe aromas of orchard fruit and Golden Delicious apple that give the vintage a broader sense of richness and density. A few hours of skin contact followed by five months in stainless steel on the fine lees contribute to the wine’s fuller texture, with faint mineral tones emerging on the close. Sourced from Vigneto Le Sondraie, where deep sandy soils are mixed with gravel and clay, the wine remains appealing, though this 2024 bottling does not quite reach the level, or the sharpness, of some standout editions from the past decade. Production totals 80,000 bottles.
