The 2020 Pommard Grands Epenots 1er Cru comes from a single parcel next to the Clos de Citeaux, close to the village that tends to be one of the first to be picked. Such a sophisticated bouquet: blackberry, briary, pressed iris and hints of peony, a hint of black truffle in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a supple opening. The finest tannins here, framing the crisp red fruit on the finish surfeit with Pinoté. This is top drawer.
