The 2011 Giorgio Primo is the latest edition of one of my favorite Tuscan blends. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot are the three pillars of this broadly textured red. Soaring aromas include dark cherry, marzipan and even a touch of chocolate cookie dough. Its texture is chewy, rich and syrupy and you definitely feel that 15% alcohol on the close.

The 2011 Giorgio Primo is just as beautiful today as it was last year, even if it has barely budged since then. Blackberry jam, spices, licorice, smoke and new leather meld together in a seamless voluptuous wine endowed with superb depth and pure textural richness. The oak still needs time to integrate, but there is a lot to look forward to here.
Black cherries, plums, smoke, tar, graphite and spices all burst from the glass in the 2011 Giorgio Primo. Rich, voluptuous and intense, the 2011 impresses for its seamless personality. A rich, super-ripe, full-throttle finish rounds things out in style. Today the 2011 is showing remarkably well, considering it was just bottled one week ago. The 2011 is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot.
