A prodigious Carmignano, this 1997 is made primarily from Sangiovese, with 22% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot added. It offers spectacular aromatics consisting of cherry jam, chocolate, cedar, spice, and earth. The color is an opaque ruby/purple, and the wine possesses great purity, terrific texture, a rich, fleshy, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and a seamless finish.
