Note di degustazione
Full bottle just 1,225 g. Traditional dry-farmed field blend of 90% Zinfandel, 7% Petite Sirah and 3% Carignane. Transparent crimson. This has developed that characteristic meaty Zinfandel nose. Unlike the 2023, it doesn't say 'Old Vine' on the label but it seems to have developed more serious intent than the 2023 Old Vine bottling. Really fresh but it offers an unusual combination of fun and gravitas. Smells of hedgerows and just a little spice. Long and savoury on the end. (JR)

90% Zinfandel, 7% Petite Sirah and 3% Carignane. Pale ruby with a hint of purple. Incredibly energetic on the nose with red fruit and classic Zin brambliness – like a raspberry bush baked in the sun, some leaves crackly and dried and others lending a green freshness. Iron and dried red-pepper spice on the palate with tangy acidity and dusty tannin. 2022 saw massive heatwaves at harvest but this wine illustrates Zinfandel's remarkable capacity to weather heat while retaining freshness. Elegant. (SCJ)
