2014 Comtésse Bernard de Cherisey Meursault-Blagny La Genelotte 1er Cru

Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting, the 2014 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru La Genelotte from Domaine de Chérisey (formerly Martelet de Chérisey) was showing too much SO2 on the nose at present, although underneath there lies a very fine white 2014 Burgundy. The palate is fresh on the entry, with touches of bitter lemon and quince, quite tensile and linear but gaining more and more harmony in the glass. I like the edginess of this 2014 although it will benefit from a couple of years in bottle. Be patient...
