Good medium red. High-toned nose dominated by spicy oak; one can smell the tannins here. Then sweet and penetrating, with juicy acids and notes of pepper and herbs keeping the wine's fruit under wraps. A concentrated, somewhat muscular wine with a Pommard-like solidity and less early sweetness than Charlot's Volnays. Finishes with a big tannic structure and a hint of surmaturite
