Note di degustazione
The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes 1er Cru has a rich and slightly honeyed bouquet with hints of hazelnut, green olive and pressed flowers. The palate is balanced, with a lightly spiced, ginger-tinged entry. It feels very tight and backward at the moment, although it does convey energy toward the finish; therefore, I am inclined to give this two or three years in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Tasted blind, the 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes is exceptional, unfurling in the glass with a classy bouquet of hazelnut cream, ripe lemon and pear. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with chewy extract and considerable depth at the core, blanched by bright, tangy acids. This was a terrific showing for Sauzet.
This seems awfully expensive! Solid and box-ticking but I don’t see any magic here. A little astringent on the end. Good extract. Perhaps just unformed. (JR)
