Note di degustazione
Aromas of cherries, raspberries, raw cocoa, violets, rose petals and spices introduce the 2019 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Angles, a medium-bodied, lively wine that's supple and enveloping, with a charming, demonstrative profile that's typical of this climat. It will offer a broad drinking window.

The 2019 Volnay Clos des Angles 1er Cru has a sensual bouquet with plush maraschino cherries and redcurrant jus, a touch of potpourri in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, touches of soy infusing the red fruit. Just a little tapering towards the finish perhaps shows why this Premier Cru is not in the Premier league. Give this 3-4 years in bottle.
The d’Angerville family owned 0.5 ha en métayage with F Rossignol which d’Angerville took back. He now has 1.5 ha at the beginning of the slope as you take the lorry route up to the village from Beaune. Cask sample. Very juicy and complete. Lots of sweet fruit. Lots of appeal already. Really quite open. Mineral finish. (JR)
