Note di degustazione
Dark and rich in the glass, the 2012 Brunello di Montalcino captivates with haunting dried florals, crushed fall leaves and rosemary giving way to cloves, black cherries and hints of allspice. This is elegance personified, silky and pliant, yet with a core of stimulating acidity to balance, as masses of tart wild berries and mineral tones saturate toward the close. Balsamic spice, dried citrus peels and hints of licorice can all be found through the long and spicy finale, as the 2012 finishes with admirable length, and it is still lightly tannic. There’s a certain “Drink me now” feel here, yet with the balance to last for many years to come.

Montalcino Nord (Montosoli). Bright, light ruby. Well-mannered, transparent and very fresh nose. Already beautifully balanced with the fruit counterpoised with the fine tannins. Very 21st century… Refreshing stuff to chew on. (JR)
Federico Buffi's 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is a fine and streamlined expression that puts special focus on the smaller details. The wine offers streamlined simplicity and this is its most attractive quality. Polished aromas of white cherry, grilled herb and forest floor give the wine a bright and slightly menthol-like personality. The finish is long and polished. This Brunello from Baricci offers purity and grace.
