Note di degustazione
Tobacco, cedar, mushrooms, earthiness and crushed flowers lift from the glass in the 1995 Brunello di Montalcino. Although fully mature, the 1995 clearly has enough depth to hang on for another 5-10 years. The 1995 will appeal most to readers who enjoy wines with a fair amount of tertiary nuance.

Mature mid ruby with broad bricky rim. Dark spices and mulch and almost a little like an aged bordeaux. Sweet malt, orange peel with a dusting of cocoa and cherry on the palate and with lively acidity throughout. Really supple and lively finish with fine grainy clinging tannins. Vibrant even if not mega long and with an elegant mid-weight feel to it. (WS)
The deep plum-colored 1995 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva offers notes of leather, cigar smoke, dried cherries, roasted meats, and herbs, and a medium-bodied, moderately tannic, open-knit personality. Anticipated maturity: now-2012. Importer: Vinifera Imports, Ronkonkoma, NY; tel. (516) 467-5907
Full deep red. Captivating aromas of redcurrant, dried flowers and roasted chestnut. Silky and pliant in the mouth, with excellent depth of flavor and plenty of underlying structure. Quite backward despite its obvious richness. Finishes long, with slightly dry tannins that will require patience.
