Punteggio 95+/100 · Da bere 2027-2039, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2026

The 2019 Geremia is impenetrable. That's the good news. The bad news is that readers will have to be patient. Today the 2019 is all about primary fruit and imposing structure. I would not think about opening a bottle anytime soon. Graphite, menthol, licorice and dried herbs open with a bit of coaxing. This is a wine for the cellar.

The 2019 Geremia is mostly Merlot along with some Cabernet Sauvignon that was raised in a combination of French barrique and tonneaux. In the glass, it boasts a dark red/magenta color and is expressive on the nose with aromas of menthol, blackberries, dark cocoa, and rosemary. The palate is full and savory, with a compact structure, gravelly tannins, snappy acidity, and notes of tea leaf and Mediterranean herbs lasting on the finish. It is tension-packed and coiled at this stage and demands another year or more in the cellar, but it sure has a lot to offer. Drink 2026-2040.

The 2019 Geremia is packed with dark blue/purplish fruit, gravel, incense, licorice, scorched earth and graphite. This potent Merlot packs quite the punch. Even with all of its intensity, the 2019 remains vibrant and full of energy,

70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 24 months in barriques. Certified organic (ICEA). Impenetrable crimson. Toscana meets Bordeaux. A fantastic, intense nose of cassis and dark cherry with gorgeous, subtle, spicy oak. Dense, rich and yet balanced, with a palate bursting with cassis, grippy tannins and supple acidity. I really want to see this wine in five years. Super-hedonistic and classy. (WS)
