Note di degustazione
Lustrous and just mid ruby. Balsamic rather than fruity and very slow to open up. A pinch of exotic spice. Slowly cherry fruit with a touch of oak emerge. Great purity of fruit on the palate and with fantastic chewy tannins. Intense and long. (WS)

I am a huge fan of the 2013 vintage, and the 2013 Brunello Di Montalcino is no exception, with aromas of spiced orange, anise, leather, cranberries, and dried roses. Medium-bodied and elegant, with fine tannins, it has long freshness through the finish and is in a beautiful place for drinking now, as it has a lot of complexity and is likely at its high point for drinking now.
Here is a silky and smooth interpretation of Sangiovese from a cool and classic vintage. The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino offers a balanced bouquet with equal parts dark fruit, spice and grilled herb. This wine delivers a soft and delicate approach with firm tannins that are well integrated within the greater flesh and texture of the wine.
Just mid ruby. A little austere and medicinal and slow to unfurl on the palate. Tight fruit and acidity hold the balance, but really unwilling to open up. More burgundy than Brunello and almost light. Very tight and closed and fiercely tannic for the moment. (WS) (JR)
