Note di degustazione
Vivid ruby. Highly perfumed cherry and dark berry aromas are complicated by suggestions of oak spice, smoky minerals and lavender, along with a candied licorice element. Lively and alluringly sweet, offering concentrated black raspberry, cherry cola and boysenberry flavors that are sharpened by a jolt of juicy acidity. Finishes taut, minerally and impressively long, with smooth tannins adding shape and gentle grip.

Beautiful raspberry and redcurrant fruit on the nose. There's a sweet, port-style richness to it, with layers of clove and cinnamon spice too. Dark chocolate on the palate, very supple tannins and surprisingly tangy acidity on the finish. Well balanced, and hides its volume in clever corsetry. (RH)
The 2016 Cartoixa has a spectacular nose full of flowers, blood orange and red berries that is elegant, perfumed and nuanced. It's mostly Garnacha with some 20% Cariñena from different vineyards and is produced in the traditional way, with an élevage in used oak that was very respectful of the character of the wine. It's fresh, nuanced, complex and very elegant, with a medium-bodied palate with refined tannins and lively, effervescent acidity that makes you salivate. This could very well be the finest vintage for the Cartoixa bottling. 15,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2018.
