2012 Martoccia di Brunelli Brunello di Montalcino

The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is a perfectly correct wine that offers standard Sangiovese aromas of cherry, wild berry and toasted almond. The bouquet does not excel in terms of purity or focus, yet it does a pretty good job on all other fronts. It offers nice density and length with good textural richness. The wine is perhaps less formal that many of its peers, but it holds its own on the dinner table.
