The 2017 Duemani, the estate’s top Cabernet Franc, is dark, fleshy and super-expressive. Black cherry, mocha, licorice, spice, menthol and chocolate are some of the notes that are pushed forward. Bold, racy and explosive, the Franc offers plenty of immediacy in 2017, yet also has enough structure to develop nicely in bottle for at least a handful of years. It was fermented in open top casks and aged in French 225 and 228L French oak barrels.

The 2017 Cabernet Franc Duemani is an enormous wine with a huge payload of concentration, yet there is a relieving freshness to it. Along with the pleasnat notes of spice and dark berry, you get all the thickness and the richness you might expect from a Cabernet Franc of this vintage. The tannins are less silky compared to the estate's Syrah, and it's not a bad idea to let this one cellar for a while before presenting it alongside a platter of rich, creamy cheeses.
A tight and focused cabernet franc with blackberry and blueberry aromas and flavors. Hints of dark tobacco. Firm and silky tannins. Full to medium body. Balanced and focused with a beautiful finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink now, but better after 2021.
