2019 Santenay Les Hates

The 2019 Santenay Les Hâtes Village comes from the sloped part of the vineyard on hard limestone, demonstrated by Moreau on a snazzy new geological map hanging in his barrel cellar. It has a tightly wound bouquet with crushed strawberry, redcurrant and light rose petal scents. The palate is well balanced with fine definition. The 5-10% whole bunches lend a little spice, feeling rounded and generous on the finish. Seductive.
